5500 buses of the state-owned BRTC will be engaged in passenger service for the smooth journey of homebound people during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
Last year, 500 buses were engaged in passenger service under Eid special service. This time 50 more have been increased to 500. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has been engaged in the passenger service of the country since independence.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman built this national institution to facilitate people’s transportation in independent Bangladesh. Since then, state institutions have regularly set exemplary standards in passenger service. BRTC is continuing to expand passenger services day by day in the midst of various adversities.
This Eid, BRTC’s staff will be engaged in passenger service across the country.
Chairman of the organization Tajul Islam said that there will be 550 buses for passenger transport. Among these, 50 buses will run in the capital Dhaka. These buses will serve along with the long distance buses.
